I had a fun Saturday last week getting to serve a beautiful friend and her family for her baby sister's wedding. Adrianna is an amazingly strong and encouraging person, and I was so honored that she thought of me when it came to getting ready for her family's big day!
We had to get an early start due to how much these awesome women were doing to help the wedding go off perfectly, so the makeup needed to LAST. I took this opportunity to put some particular techniques to work. Their faces were all set with RCMA foundation which has a wax base and 50% pigment, so a very little bit goes a long way. This means that one can work in very this layers for good coverage and comfort. It also means that when you apply a very thin layer, you can spritz on a waterproofing setting spray like Urban Decay All-Nighter, then layer ANOTHER very thin layer of foundation on to build a long-lasting canvas. I heard back from Adrianna that they felt great and it lasted all night! Score!
I had the pleasure of working with Adrianna's mother, who had basically never worn makeup in her life! I wanted her to feel comfortable but still glamorous, so I went very light-handed on the foundation and focused mostly on color-correcting some dark spots and scars she had. And by some crazy miracle, I convinced her to wear false lashes! Her daughters were loving this, of course!
Each woman was a total joy to work with, and I'm glad they had just as much fun as I did. Thank you, ladies, for letting me be a part of your big day!
